1. Meetings on Spirituality and Service-Learning
The South-West Europe Hub is organizing three webinars on spirituality and service-learning, featuring expert speakers with extensive experience in this field.
The first one will be delivered by Bro. Alejandro González Cerna, Professor and former Dean of the Faculty of Education in the Bethlehem University in Palestine, who will address Spirituality and Service-Learning. The other two sessions will be led by two professors from the University of Deusto: Marian Aláez Martínez, full Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Deusto, will discuss Spirituality and Teaching; while the discussion on Spirituality and Religiousness will be in charge of Arantza Echaniz-Barrondo, Full Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The webinars will be conducted in Spanish with simultaneous interpretation into English on Wednesday, 13th May, 9th June and 24th September at 3:00 pm (Spanish Time GMT + 1).
2. “Keys to building quality service-learning: lessons learned from award-winning experiences”.
Building Quality Service-Learning.
As part of the third Uniservitate Award, participants of this global network will be able to learn more about the winner of previous editions and the perspectives of some expert judges. The webinar, Keys to building quality service-learning: lessons learned from award-winning experiences, will be held on Thursday, 26th March, from 9:30 am to 11:00am (Argentine time), with simultaneous Spanish/English translation. 3. 5th Meeting of Rectors.
The fifth meeting of rectors and other authorities of Catholic higher education institutions participating in Uniservitate will be held online on 15th April at 9.30 am (Argentine time). It is a great opportunity to exchange ideas among those who are committed to and responsible for promoting service-learning in Catholic universities. Its purpose is to continue searching for strategies for sustainability and development of the Uniservitate programme, while preparing together for the next meeting in Rome this October, to which the rectors will be invited.
4. Uniservitate Community:
The two major in-person meetings of the global Uniservitate community have already set their dates in 2026. In addition to regional meetings, webinars and other events, delegates representing Uniservitate hubs will meet on Wednesday 26th August in Buenos Aires (Argentina), the previous day to the International Solidarity Service-Learning Conference, which will take place there on 27th and 28th August. On October, there will be a fraternal gathering with delegates from service-learning teams, students and professors from universities worldwide, as part of the VII Global Symposium on October, on a date to be confirmed, in Rome (Italy).
