Last September 6, took place the Award Ceremony for the Uniservitate Award winners in the Asia & Ocenia region. The event was organised by the host institution, De La Salle University, with the participation of directors, professors and students from their university and other invited institutions.
After the official opening of the event, a group of students sang the national anthem of the Philippines followed by a welcome message from Br. Bernard S. OCA, FSC (De la Salle University President).
The meeting also featured an inspirational message from Dr. Carol Ma (Singapore University of Social Sciences) who was a member of the distinguished jury in the region. She highlighted the importance of the impact of Service-Learning pedagogy on universities in the region.
During the ceremony, María Rosa Tapia, coordinator of the Uniservitate Programme, also participated in a virtual presentation on the particularities of the Uniservitate Award, whose main objective is to give visibility and recognition to solidarity experiences promoted by higher education institutions around the world.
There also gathered the real protagonists: the students and the awarded institutions. They were able to address the audience, share their experiences and express their gratitude for the recognition received.

The winners had the opportunity to share their experiences with the audience and receive the recognition from the organisers of the Uniservitate Award in the region.
The ceremony was concluded by Dr. Fritzie Ian De Vera, Vice President for Lasallian Mission, De La Salle University. She congratulated the winners and thanked all the institutions that submitted for the Award, and addressed some emotional words to all the students present:
« …always carry the spirit of God, That light that is always burning in our hearts an be moved to do the work of sharing this light and our stories of transformation, so we can mean fully bring love and hope to others ».
