New Training Sessions for Institutions Participating in Uniservitate

The Uniservitate Membership Programme continues to offer training and education on key aspects of solidarity service-learning. The next session will be held on 15th October and, like previous sessions, will be held online for institutions participating in the global network. The October webinar, Service-Learning in Higher Education: Strategies and Experiences for Institutionalization, will feature Andrew Furco from the University of Minnesota (USA) and representatives from several hubs of the Uniservitate network. More information about this event and the registration form will be available soon.
The previous session, held in July, focused on best practices in the service-learning pedagogy and how to communicate them, and is now available to Uniservitate programme members in Spanish and English on this global network’s YouTube channel and on the members-only website. During the webinar, Andrés Peregalli, Uniservitate vice-coordinator, outlined the main concepts that define a quality SSL practice, its curriculum features, objectives, stages, and cross-cutting processes in project development. « Practices are more likely to succeed if guided by an institution that knows the direction and monitors the project progress, » he said.
The distinctive characteristics of communicating SSL experiences were presented by María de los Milagros Dominici, from the CLAYSS Communications team for the Uniservitate programme, who underlined that the content selected in the communication pieces is more important than the technical resources available.
In turn, Uniservitate Membership Coordinator, Paula Basílico, reminded attendees that this initiative is free of charge for Catholic higher education institutions and pointed out that the possibility of networking promotes fraternity while strengthening the service-learning approach in different countries and regions.
The recording of the meeting in English is available to members on the Uniservitate YouTube channel. Those who registered for the webinar received a code to access the video, but other members can access it through the website exclusively for them.
