Pope Francis will be one of the central figures of the day dedicated to the Uniservitate meeting, taking place in Buenos Aires in August as part of the 22nd International Solidarity Service-Learning Week hosted by CLAYSS. The meeting with Uniservitate hub members will take place on Tuesday, 19th August, at a campus of the Universidad del Salvador (USAL), where Jorge Mario Bergoglio previously taught.
That day, in the morning, some USAL Tourism students will organize a tour for the participants around the iconic places in Buenos Aires that are significant in the life of Pope Francis. On Saturday 23rd, the Uniservitate delegation, alongside students and faculty members from the USAL School of Engineering will also visit a solidarity service-learning initiative that the University is carrying out in a shantytown called ‘Carlos Mugica’ (formerly Villa 31).
Meanwhile, the VII Service-Learning Researchers’ Symposium (JIAS, in its acronym in Spanish) is scheduled for Wednesday, 20th August, while the 28th International Solidarity Service-Learning Conference will take place on Thursday, 21st August and Friday, 22nd August, at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA). As usual, the Conference is a free onsite event, requiring pre-registration. We share here the preliminary agenda of the event.
