V Global Symposium Uniservitate
Transforming Higher Education from Within
7th and 8th November 2024
Università LUMSA, Rome (Italy)
The fifth edition of the meeting, which annually renews the spirit that inspires and sustains Uniservitate, will focus on one of the three lines of this programme: the institutionalization of solidarity service learning (SSL). With the support of the Dicastery for Culture and Education, the coordination of Uniservitate and the host team of LUMSA are preparing an intense and enriching schedule.
During the plenary sessions, discussions will be held on the possible ways to institutionalize solidarity service learning in Catholic higher education institutions, and the spirituality of service will be examined in depth, as well as the links between both topics. In addition, discussion will be held on theme convergences and perspectives of the Global Compact on Education, the Sustainable Development Goals and SSL good practices alongside current research work. Furthermore, students and faculty involved in the winning projects of the Uniservitate Award 2024 will present their experiences, the rectors of the partner institutions will hold a meeting, and the winning researchers of the Small Research Grants 2023/2024 will discuss with the members of the Uniservitate Academic Sounding Board.
On 9th November, at the end of the two-day meeting and work, the Symposium participants will meet the Holy Father in a private audience that will surely strengthen their hearts, enlighten their minds and encourage them to continue transforming society from within their higher education institutions.
