From 20 to 22 June, the team of Clayss and the Uniservitate Programme represented by Nieves Tapia (CLAYSS Director), Maria Rosa Tapia (Uniservitate Coordinator) and Andrés Peregalli (Uniservitate Research) were received by the directors of the Lumsa University (Rome, Italy) in order to share several programmed activities. There they met with the Rector, Professor Francesco Bonini and part of the academic team.
One of the main reasons for the visit was to be able to make the face-to-face meeting that had been postponed due to the pandemic and to make progress in the organisation and other preparations for the III Uniservitate Global Symposium, which will bring together at the Roman University, on 27 and 28 October, representatives from more than 100 Catholic higher education institutions from all over the world to address issues related to the pedagogy of service-learning.
Within the framework of the visit and as part of the celebration of 20 years of CLAYSS and within the cycle « 20 trainings in 20 cities », an open talk entitled « Service-Learning: Schools and universities tell stories » was also given at the host university by Nieves Tapia. Several SL experiences from different parts of the world were presented with an active participation of the protagonists of some projects from Italy, with enriching interactions for the world of service-learning.
