Researchers in Action

The knowledge production on service-learning implemented by the Uniservitate programme will have a special place during the V Symposium. For the first time, there will be a face-to-face meeting between the Small Research Funds 2023-2024 winners and the members of the Uniservitate Academic Sounding Board, international leaders in service-learning. This exchange will reinforce the synergy between researchers and the possibility of mutual collaboration, as is already happening in some cases.
The researchers who were awarded Small Research Funds after a rigorous selection process focused on four areas related to service-learning (SL): its spiritual dimension, its contribution to the mission and identity of Catholic Higher Education Institutions, the evidence of SL impact on the holistic education of undergraduates, and the SL institutionalization processes within the specific contexts of Catholic Higher Education Institutions (CHEIs).
The members of the Uniservitate Academic Sounding Board are dedicated to researching three areas: spiritual dimension, institutionalization and impact on students. They also concentrate on networking within the field of service-learning. These experts have formed working groups based on their backgrounds and interests to enhance knowledge production on spirituality and the institutionalization of service-learning in Catholic Higher Education Institutions (CHEIs).
The Symposium schedule includes spaces aiming to promote a genuine exchange among researchers. For this purpose, the participants will previously receive summaries of each colleague’s work.
