The third meeting of rectors, university authorities, institutions accompanied, and members of the Uniservitate programme will take place during the V Global Symposium. The Prefect for Education and Culture of the Holy See, Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, will attend this meeting and has offered the headquarters of the Dicastery to hold it.
The first meeting of this type took place in Rome in 2022, during the III Uniservitate Symposium, with 20 leaders attending from different institutions. The second one was online and took place last March, when 44 representatives of supported universities and international associations, such as the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) from the United States and ODUCAL, the Organization of Catholic Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean, participated and worked side by side.
‘We are very excited about this meeting because we know the impact this has on the service-learning institutionalization process in universities,’ said María Rosa Tapia, coordinator of Uniservitate. Meanwhile, the director and founder of CLAYSS, Nieves Tapia, specified: ‘This meeting is utterly important because we know that there is a lot done from the bottom up, but what is also important is what is done from the top down. The dialogue between peers and others’ experiences inspires us.’
