The Uniservitate programme was introduced to international representatives of Salesian Higher Education Institutions at their meeting in Rome in June.
Maria Cinque from LUMSA, the Uniservitate representative, shared experiences and general concepts of service-learning depicting the programme development with the Salesian representatives. She also encouraged the regional coordinators to invite their universities to join the Membership programme. It is worth noting that the Salesian University Assam Don Bosco in India is a Uniservitate member of the global network actively engaged in service-learning institutionalization.
The meeting brought together the Salesian Continental Coordinators and the General Coordinator of the Higher Education Institutions (IUS), who evaluated past actions and the plan for 2022-2026. During the second segment, the participants attended lectures with special speakers on various topics, including service-learning.
Uniservitate’s participation aligns with the decision to build strategic alliances with congregations with a strong history in Catholic higher education. Similarly, in June, Uniservitate attended the Lasallian Brothers’ Summer Camp, with representatives of institutions worldwide, and the global meeting of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (HMA) youth ministry in Rome.
