From the US and Canada hub, we have two special invitations: one for Uniservitate members and the other for the global service-learning community.
On 1st October, this Uniservitate hub will hold the annual meeting of its Community Engaged Scholar Practitioner Network (CESPN) at the University of San Diego, the day before the IARSLCE Annual Conference. Alongside the institutions, other regional institutions representing Uniservitate are also welcome to this event. The second invitation sent by the US-Canada hub is a call for academic submissions on service-learning to the Journal of Catholic Higher Education (JCHE), an interdisciplinary digital publication of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU). JCHE will devote a special issue to service-learning and community engagement in Catholic higher education institutions. Individuals or groups (i.e. scholars and community partners producing together) can submit manuscripts inquiring into the role, impact, structure, theory, practice, pedagogy, and programmatic approaches of service-learning and community engagement related to Catholic higher education institutions. US hub representatives reminded us that the 2023 annual meeting was held at Loyola University New Orleans with Nieves Tapia, Daniel Giorgetti (Uniservitate) and Jen Azordegan from Australian Catholic University. This time, they explored the most salient research issues facing Catholic universities while developing a research agenda for service-learning and community engagement as we move forward in the 21st Century.
