Flashes of New Hope

We are grateful and enthusiastic about what we have experienced in the first months of 2024. In this Newsletter, we share some of the actions that are making history within the great History. We see in them some flashes “of new hope” arising from the “burst of creativity” caused in the soul of a Christian to see God “beside the flesh of our neighbour”, as the Pope invited us to do in his message for Lent this year.
The growth of our global community through the brand-new Membership proposal, the trusting and transparent dialogue between rectors of some twenty institutions of higher education from five continents, and the meeting with Pope Francis on the occasion of the centenary of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU) and his words of encouragement and praise are some of these flashes. Additionally, there are fruits of collaborative work between study houses in various countries, shared prayer between professors and students from different cultures, and efforts to consolidate the training for trainers and provide publications that educate and inspire the generation of new service-learning proposals.
We would like to remind you of the invitation to participate in the Uniservitate Award 2024. Your participation will help make service-learning experiences more visible and reduce global indifference in the present era. We also share the preparations for our big annual event: the V Uniservitate Global Symposium. It will take place in Rome on 7th and 8th November and, following our tradition, will be an opportunity to strengthen links and renew our commitment to build a more fraternal and united world.
We wish everyone a very Happy Easter, when Hope is renewed in our hearts so that the Joy of Faith shines on our faces and the Love “that renews all things” is evident in our relationships, educational practices and ways of relating to our brothers and sisters and our environment. Thus, hopefully, those who see us will be able to say, as was said of the early Christians: “Look at how they love each other”.
