A Platform to Match Projects and Needs

The Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (UC, Spanish acronym) invites members of Uniservitate to discover and participate in Plataforma Match, a platform designed to forge connections between various service-learning stakeholders. It aims to facilitate the generation of collaborative projects by enabling the search for information and personal contacts tailored to the challenges and interests of each participant.
Launched at the beginning of January within the framework of the Uniservitate programme and the Catholic University of Chile’s commitment to promoting the institutionalization of service-learning, this initiative originated a year and a half ago. It was driven by a member of the service-learning team and seeks to gather information on specific service-learning courses, the social challenges faced by community partners, implemented projects aiming for continuity and competitive funds from different countries.
Here, social organizations can publish their social challenge,
so that a teaching team can choose it and address it from the SL.
Rocío Fontana Venegas, from the UC’s Training for Public Engagement department, operating under the Centro de Desarrollo Docente UC that oversees the new platform, encourages Uniservitate members to explore it and contribute information and data to present their projects and needs. According to Rocío, the goal is to “facilitate connections between professors, students and community partners to develop service projects collaboratively. And since service-learning knows no boundaries, this includes the universities accompanied by Uniservitate’s LATAM hub’.

Here, it is the educational institution that completes the country data,
work modality and area of knowledge, to make a “match” with a social organization
