On September 8th, 9th and 10th took place the “Service-Learning Week” organised by Tangaza University (Kenya), regional hub of Uniservitate in Africa, with the active participation of Mwenge Catholic University (Tanzania), University of Kisubi (Uganda), Université Catholique de l’Afrique Centrale (Cameroon) and Loyola University (Congo).
This important meeting for the region brought together authorities, educators and students from the different institutions to share experiences, reflect and debate on the importance of the implementation of service-learning pedagogy in higher education and its contribution to a comprehensive education.
Under the theme: “The role of service-learning and its impact in the midst of the pandemic”, the event’s agenda included various activities and panels by specialists who shared their vast experience on the subject and opened the dialogue to emphasise the perspectives, turning points and opportunities for implementing service-learning and solidarity service in the context of pandemics.
The voices of the young students were also heard, and they were the real protagonists of the experiences shared.
